Connect an AI assistant

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any interactive MCP client to Suede by signing in — no keys to copy.

Interactive assistants connect to Suede with a quick browser sign-in. You paste the server URL into the assistant, approve access once, and the assistant can start working with your Suede data. Any member can do this — there are no credentials to copy or store.

Before you begin

  • A Suede account with access to at least one workspace.

  • The assistant you want to connect (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP client).

  • The server URL:

    https://mcp.suedewebsystems.ai/mcp/v1

How it works

Add the connector in your assistant

Open your assistant's connector or MCP settings and add a new connection using the server URL above. Per-assistant locations are listed below.

Sign in to Suede

The assistant opens a Suede sign-in page in your browser. Sign in with the account you use for the dashboard.

Approve access

Suede shows what the assistant is requesting. Review it and approve. You're returned to your assistant, now connected.

Start using it

Ask the assistant about your AI visibility, citations, competitors, or prompts. If your role allows edits, you can also ask it to add or update topics, personas, and prompts.

Where to add the connector

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Paste the server URL and confirm. Claude opens the Suede sign-in, and once you approve, the Suede tools become available in your chats.

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors and add a new MCP connector. Paste the server URL, then complete the Suede sign-in when prompted.

Connector support depends on your ChatGPT plan. If you don't see the Connectors section, your plan may not include custom MCP connectors yet.

In Cursor, open Settings → MCP and add a new server with the URL above. See Cursor's MCP documentation for the exact location in your version. Cursor opens a browser window for the Suede sign-in; approve it and the tools appear in the agent.

Manage or disconnect

Every assistant you connect this way appears under My MCP Connections. Open it from the account menu (your avatar, top-right) or from Account preferences → MCP.

From there you can see when each assistant was last active and disconnect any of them. Disconnecting takes effect immediately — the assistant loses access until you connect it again.

Connections are personal. Only the person who connected an assistant can disconnect it. Organization Admins can see which members have connected which assistants from Workspace MCP Management, but cannot disconnect on a member's behalf — see Static credentials.

What your connection can do

A connection inherits your role:

  • Viewers get read-only access.
  • Members, Admins, and Owners can read and edit monitoring data.
  • Admins and Owners can additionally create workspaces and pitch spaces.

See Tools and permissions reference for the full mapping.
