Roles
What each Suede role can and cannot do — Owner, Admin, Member, and Viewer.
Every organization member has one of four roles. Roles are set when you invite someone and can be changed later by an Owner or Admin.

Role descriptions
Owner
Full access to everything. The person who created the organization is its first Owner. Owners are the only role that can delete the organization or transfer ownership. There must always be at least one Owner on an organization.
Admin
Broad access, but cannot delete the organization or manage billing plans. Admins can invite and remove members, configure SSO, change security settings, and update organization settings. Useful for team leads who need full operational control without billing access.
Member
Can view the dashboard and edit monitoring data — topics, prompts, personas, peers, domains, and social accounts. Members can also view billing and usage information. Members cannot invite other people, change organization settings, or create workspaces.
Viewer
Read-only access to the dashboard and MCP read tools. Viewers cannot edit any monitoring data and cannot view billing or usage information.
Viewer is designed for external stakeholders — clients, executives, or partners who need to follow monitoring results but should not change the setup or see internal billing details.
A note on Member vs. Viewer
A common misconception is that Members are read-only. They are not. Members can fully edit monitoring data (topics, prompts, personas, peers, and so on). If you want to give someone read-only access, assign them the Viewer role.
Seats
Every role consumes one seat. Your plan includes a base number of seats per workspace, and pending invitations also count toward that limit while they are outstanding. See Invite members for how seat limits work in practice.
